Last Wednesday we had the pleasure of sending off the Jewson team at their Barnsley Branch, ahead of their next stage of their “North Monster Walk”.
The event was in honor of raising money for two important companies, Barnardo’s and Band of Builders, the two official charity partners. These two charities do amazing work and make a real difference, as well as helping Jewson to fulfill their purpose to ‘Make The World a Better Home’. By the end of the week, the team managed to raise an incredible amount of £31,112.81, achieving their target of £30,000.
The walk started on the Lancashire coast (Widnes) and moved across the country, visiting 13 Jewson branches on route including Warrington, Marple, Barnsley, Castleford, Selby, Scunthorpe and finishing in Hull on Friday afternoon, which will include, walking the trans-Pennine trail, and also trekking over the Humber Bridge on their journey to complete in Hull Sutton Fields one of the Flagship Jewson branches.
We joined the team halfway through their week at their Barnsley Branch to send them off in style with a trade show, food, and a little entertainment of a saxophone player. It was a delight to be able to supply the food for the morning via The Striped pig Company, which provided a fantastic breakfast of bacon and sausage sandwiches along with tea and coffee. A breakfast that fuelled the participants ready for the day ahead!
For the morning we took along our Grono gazebo that will we be taking with us to trade shows, featuring external and internal display, a fencing POS stand, and samples of all our products. Along with this, our Landscape Technician, Ryan Dunham, gave an excellent demonstration, using our premier sliver and charcoal range on the ease of how to install our products.
A huge thank you to the Jewson Barnsley team for hosting us for the morning. Well done in completing the walk and exceeding the target!
